Flexible in Carton Size
With BOX-E and BOX-EXT, you can scale and expand at any time. When there is a need for more production capacity for carton forming, our LAP-C and LAP-L platforms are also used. We work with you to determine what you need: we won’t sell you a fully automated top-of-the-line model if you need a semi-automatic entry-level model. The advantage of our GTE platform is that you can process multiple products on the same platform and add modules and further automation at any time.
Carton Forming: Applications
Carton forming can be a versatile process, especially when various products need to be packed in a specific package. That’s why we work together with you to determine the steps needed to increase production line efficiency.
With BOX-E and BOX-EXT, you shape cartons from (pre-printed) blanks and, if desired, add an inlay where the product or products are placed (either manually or automated).
If you opt for the modular machines LAP-C or LAP-L, you can choose to add a printer and vision check to serialize the batch: this allows you to print important information such as the batch number, data matrix, and pharmacode on the packaging, which is then checked by OCR.
Comprehensive Quality Control on Assembled Cartons
When you deliver your products, you want everything to be complete and meet all quality standards. Although this sounds logical, this is a function that can still be improved in many cases. Our Vision system checks the quality from the first to the last step. So, from folding and gluing the packages to checking if the serialization is correctly printed on the packaging and if the Tamper Evidence seal is correctly applied.
Vision checks are also possible when filling the packaging material. If you opt for a fully automated solution, we simply add extra steps. After the forming phase, we check if the orientation of the product to be packaged is correct, so the cobot or robot can place it directly in the packaging. Then, during a presence check, we verify if all products to be packaged are in the packaging before sending them to the next step via a transport system.

At GTE, we understand that every production process has its own characteristics. That’s why our solutions are scalable and can be expanded at a later time. While a clinical trial or start-up often opts for a semi-automatic solution, an existing production line often opts for a fully automatic solution. Of course, all our solutions can be expanded later with the systems you need.
